Some actors are remembered for a movie.
Morgan Freeman is remembered for a voice.
That deep, calm and unmistakable voice became one of the most recognizable sounds in cinema.
From The Shawshank Redemption to Se7en, Million Dollar Baby, Bruce Almighty and The Dark Knight Trilogy, Freeman has spent decades creating characters that audiences never forget.
But his journey wasn't an overnight success.
He worked for years before Hollywood finally gave him the recognition he deserved.
Then everything changed.
His performance in The Shawshank Redemption turned him into an international icon, while his role as Nelson Mandela in Invictus showed another side of his extraordinary talent.
He has played prisoners, presidents, detectives, soldiers, mentors and even God.
Yet somehow, no matter what character he plays, Morgan Freeman always feels like Morgan Freeman.
That's rare.
